New

I was cleaning out some old files on my computer and found these shots from last spring. They got buried and were never even edited! Just goes to show how easily beauty can be overlooked!  Perfect for a brand new year!

Blog Circle: Be Merry

Saturday, December 29, 2012
Christmas around here was quiet, with just my immediate family, but we still had a very merry time filled with games and laughter.  If you've ever spent a holiday with us, you know that's how we do it!  This year it's been Settlers of Catan galore all week long.  In fact, as I write this post, my sister just walked in the door demanding yet another game.  Merry Christmas, friends!  And don't forget to follow the blog circle around; Sarah's post is up next!

The forecast said a few snowflakes for this morning.  I didn't believe them.  I guess I should have.

ABOUT MEGAN

LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL.

Sometimes it's hard to see the beauty,
but it's always easier through the viewfinder of a camera.
At least it is for me.

I want to see the beauty in life
and my camera helps me do that.

My hope is that it will help you find the beauty too.

Blog Circle :: Be Thankful

Sunday, November 25, 2012
It's time for another round in our Girl Hearts Camera/Light Inspired blog circle.  This time the theme is "Be Thankful."  I have so much to be thankful for; God is so good.

I am thankful for my family.  My brother came home for Thanksgiving this week.  After only seeing him a few times a year for several years now, I cherish every moment with him.  Having the whole family together always brings lots of laughter, reminiscing, and late nights.  I am thankful for a Thanksgiving dinner filled with our favorites.  With just our family here this year, it was a quiet dinner, but we certainly weren't lacking for food!  (These were the leftovers... Yeah, we'll be eating them for a while!)
I am thankful for the beauty that surrounds me.  This week as I raked, I noticed the beauty in the leaves.  The colors, the textures - they are gorgeous!  Life is filled with little beautiful things if you take some time to look for them!
Lastly, I am thankful for YOU!  For each person who takes the time to "like," comment on, or talk to me in person about my photography - you make my day!  Thank you!

What are you thankful for this year?

Don't forget to follow the circle to Lori's blog!  I can't wait to see what she has to share!

Days 101-111 / 365

My last catch up post!  I'm finally all caught up!  Now, here's hoping I can stay that way! :)

October - Days 70-100/365

Sunday, November 4, 2012
October was a beautiful, crazy month.  I went did some major travelling three out of the four weekends.  I figured it out, and I was in 10 states last month.  I went to Iowa for Homecoming at my Alma Mater, to Illinois to visit friends in the town I grew up in, and to Wisconsin for a weekend at a cabin with my best friends from college.  It was a fabulous reminder that I do have friends - they just live hundreds of miles away.   Really though, it was a month filled with laughing, visiting, and love.  On top of that, I was able to go back to work after two months of forced time "off" while my company went through some major changes.  I'm thankful to be back at work, but getting back into the groove of things is crazy.  And on top of that, my boss fell and shattered her elbow and has been out for two weeks, leaving the rest of us scrambling to figure out things and pick up some of her duties.

And that is why I have been terribly absent this month.  I'm sorry.

I may not have taken a photo a day in October, but I did take plenty of pictures!  So, I decided what I would do is choose 31 photos and post one for each day, even if it wasn't taken on that day.  That way, I'm not behind of my project and you still get a very good glimpse of my month.

Here we go:

Bio

Hi, I'm Megan.

I got a film point and shoot camera for my twelth birthday, and I've been in love with freezing time via photography ever since. I took several photography classes in high school and college, and finally purchased my first DSLR in March 2012. Now I am on a journey, learning everythng I can about this adventure called photography. There is so much to learn! Thank you for caring enough to follow along with my journey!
