Friday Macros

Friday, April 19, 2013
Friday Macro images are quickly becoming a tradition for me.  After a long week at school, I just love to come home, get out my camera (which has often gotten buried under other stuff all week long) and head outside to explore my neighborhood in search for some pretties in the afternoon light.  It's such a creative release for me, a time to let go of everything from the week and just focus on the beauty around me and the technicalities of my camera.

The trees have leaves again, which I love!  I love the way the light shines through the leaves and they glow. :)

And I got a Lensbaby a few weeks ago, but I haven't played with it a lot yet.  Focusing with this thing is HARD, but it is a good kind of challenge.
(For the non-photographers among us, a Lensbaby is a type of lens that produced the blurry edges around the photos above)

Happy weekend, friends!

Blog Circle: 10 on 10 : April 2013

Tuesday, April 9, 2013
A new blog circle is starting today - this one is "10 on 10" and the idea is to post 10 photos that you've taken this month on the 10th of each month.  We aren't the first to come up with this by any means, but I love that anything goes!  This another post along with my friends from Light Inspired. :)

And this month's post is going to be filled with flowers and life. :)  Because, well, it's Spring and there are lots of pretty flowers to photograph - and because I don't want you to get too bored with my flower images.

If you can't tell, this is an orange.  Like, the fruit.  This month I overcame my irrational dislike of oranges.  I have stayed away from them for years now because I am not a fan of the white stuff that's there when you peal it.  But I decided to try one again and I loved it! Big moment for me!

My mom's Irises bloomed and she requested that I take some photos of them.  Love all the details in these flowers!

I drove down to Houston last weekend to visit my brother.  And the only photos I took were in the car on the way there.  I had high expectations to get some wonderful city shots, but that just didn't happen.  Oh well.

I bought a Lensbaby this month too.  I've only gotten it out to play once so far, but I can't wait to experiment some more!

Be sure to follow the circle all the way around, starting with Jess.  You definitely won't want to miss these talented ladies' posts!!

Bio

Hi, I'm Megan.

I got a film point and shoot camera for my twelth birthday, and I've been in love with freezing time via photography ever since. I took several photography classes in high school and college, and finally purchased my first DSLR in March 2012. Now I am on a journey, learning everythng I can about this adventure called photography. There is so much to learn! Thank you for caring enough to follow along with my journey!
