Day 39

Friday, August 31, 2012

They promised us rain from Hurricane Isaac.  All we got were some pretty clouds.

Day 38/365

Thursday, August 30, 2012

Today is a couch + book kind of day.

Edited to add:
Here's the truth: I never didn't actually sit on that couch or read that book.  I was going to, really, I promise.  But then I had to take the photo first and then I came to the computer edited it, posted it, got really distracted online, and then it was time to go to my meeting and I didn't get a chance.  Sad day, I really wanted to read that book!  Maybe tonight.  But honestly, probably not.

Day 37

Wednesday, August 29, 2012

Today I made brownies - my very favorite!

Day 36/365

Tuesday, August 28, 2012

Self Portrait!  It's time for a new facebook profile pic. :)  It's not perfect, but it'll do.  Btw, I need a remote for my camera, the self timer is stupid.

Day 35/365

I tried to do a macro of the water dripping from the faucet and couldn't seem to get the water in focus.  Fail.

Day 34/365

Sunday, August 26, 2012

A post-church, pre-lunch game of backgammon with my mom.

I don't know if normal people play backgammon, it's kind of a weird game.  But if you do, make sure you look at my pieces (the lighter ones).  That actually happened.

If you don't know how to play backgammon, just know that my game was a disaster and my mom beat me by a ton.

Day 27 - 32

Friday, August 24, 2012
Almost a whole week behind... yikes.  Playing catch-up today!

Stained glass at church after everyone left and we turned off the lights.  The light shining through was too much, I couldn't resist!

I swear the dishes were multiplying - just when I thought I was done, I'd turn around and find another pile that I'd missed!

Sitting on the porch with my brother and Bella stood by the door.  I could tell she wanted to come sit with us. :)

I installed more ram on my computer all by myself!  It was incredibly easy, really!

My mom needed 3D shapes for school, so I made some for her.  And they were so fun and colorful!

Time for a new sketchbook since the old one is falling apart!

Day 26

Saturday, August 18, 2012

grocery shopping.

Day 25

Friday, August 17, 2012

Typical Friday night around here - Settlers of Catan

What else would we do?

day 24

You know it's happened to you too...  You go out to take pictures, only to find that your memory card is still at home in your computer.  Yup, me too.

Day 23

Wednesday, August 15, 2012

It started out a normal day with Bella - she was laying all over everything I was trying to do.  But when I got my camera out to capture the simple moment of her sitting on my stuff, she started posing, so I had to take a bunch. :)

day 22

I went to the eye doctor today - time for new glasses! But they dialated my eyes and I had to wear these stupid sunglasses home and then I couldn't see all night.  It was miserable.

day 21

I have not been so good about staying on top of these posts.  I think I'm getting better about the taking a photo a day part, but the editing & posting those photos, not so much.  I'm trying.

Not such pretty pictures today, but their honest.  I am such a piler - everything that I don't have time want to put away right now, I just put in a pile.  Or if I don't know where it should go, it just goes in a pile.  It's terrible.  I knew this pile was getting out of hand when I could hardly get through my bedroom door...  So I set the timer for 10 minutes and told myself that every single thing in this corner had to be put away (not in another pile) before my time was up.  It worked.  I actually had 30 seconds left at the end!

day 20

Sunday, August 12, 2012

I can't believe I've already been at this for 20 days - time flies!
I've been working on a new quilt for my bed - I can't wait until it's finished!  Sometimes it's pretty frustrating for the perfectionist in me, but if I can get past that, the hum of the sewing machine is quite peaceful.

day 19

My mom starts school on Monday, so this weekend was the end of summer (I still have a while left in mine)  We both wanted an adventure, so we went out to a state park a few hours from home and went kayaking & hiking.  It was the perfect adventure!
Neither of us had been kayaking before, but it was lots of fun and so beautiful & peaceful!  I wish I could've brought my camera on the kayak, but you can imagine that wouldn't have been a good idea!  So a picture from our hike will have to do - I love that you can see the ripples in the water!

day 17

Wednesday, August 8, 2012

I sat outside for a little while this afternoon and this stray kitty came to join me, like it always does.  I swear she started "posing" for me as soon as I got my camera out - she was such a model!

Day 16

Tuesday, August 7, 2012

I went out out in my yard today to try to find some flowers to photograph this afternoon only to discover that almost all of them are dead and the few that were left weren't very pretty.  I did find this on a bush, though.  I love that I don't even know what it is, but it's beautiful!

Day 15

The best part of my day was worshiping along with this CD on my way home from Sherman, TX (an hour and a half drive).  I love driving alone for this reason - I can crank my music way up & sing to my Jesus at the top of my lungs.  There is nothing better in this world!  Love this album.  Thank you, Matt Redman!

days 13 & 14

Sunday, August 5, 2012

I missed the last day of our Summer Program, when I was planning on us finishing our bulletin board, so I had to go finish it without the kids...

It rained!  Like downpoured...  for about 5 minutes.  And then it stopped.  Oh well, I'm not complaining - it still rained!

Day 12

Friday, August 3, 2012

Still sick. :(
Bella wanted to play backgammon with us tonight.  Thanks, Kitty, for making me laugh. :)

Day 10 & 11

My Jo Totes bag came, so hooray for being able to take my camera with me everywhere I go now!

I spent the whole day in bed sick, drinking Sprite.  I thought the way the bubbles looked on the straw was pretty cool!

Bio

Hi, I'm Megan.

I got a film point and shoot camera for my twelth birthday, and I've been in love with freezing time via photography ever since. I took several photography classes in high school and college, and finally purchased my first DSLR in March 2012. Now I am on a journey, learning everythng I can about this adventure called photography. There is so much to learn! Thank you for caring enough to follow along with my journey!
