I can't believe 2013 is over already and we are already well into a new year! What a year '13 was! Photographically, it was a huge year of growth for me. I spent much of the year studying light, and while I recognize the growth I've made in understanding and using light well, I still see so much more room to improve.
I've seen some of these "13 Favorite images from 2013" posts around by some of my friends and I just love looking at them, so this afternoon I set out on a journey through my Lightroom catalog to choose thirteen favorites. But I underestimated how hard that would be, of course. As it turns out, I just can't do it. As I went through and marked my favorites, I came up with still over 70!
So I decided to narrow it down to 13 Macro/Fine Art photos, excluding the real life moments that I love capturing as well.
To me, Fine Art images are ones that I can see other people hanging on their walls.
So here they are, my favorite Macro/Fine Art images from 2013:

When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers—
the moon and the stars you set in place—
what are mere mortals that you should think about them,
human beings that you should care for them?
the moon and the stars you set in place—
what are mere mortals that you should think about them,
human beings that you should care for them?
O Lord, our Lord, your majestic name fills the earth!
Psalm 8:3-4, 9
