I have a thing for church sanctuaries. I think it's because I grew up in so many of them, and they are all beautiful in completely different ways. And because there are just so many little beautiful details in them. The symbolism is wonderful. So whenever I get the chance, I like to photograph them. Here are some images from a weekend spent at Second Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis.
"Why did men worship in churches, locking themselves away in the dark, when the world lay beyond its doors in all its real glory?"
